Thursday. I have four days until I will be experiencing things that I never thought I would. I will be going on a plane for the first time in my life. I will be traveling outside of the country for the first time in my life. I will be going to a place that not many people ever get the chance to go.
It’s hard to believe that six months ago, I was an alternate for this program and now I’m four days away from leaving. I’m a little taken back by everything because I have no experience with filming or interviewing people and thats what I’m going to be doing for the two weeks I’m there! It will be very interesting to see how I do with interviewing the many different people that I will get the chance to meet.
The thoughts and emotions that I have flying around in my head right now are things that I have never experienced before. Everyone that I have told about this trip have mixed emotions as well. My family is very excited for me as well as a little worried. This will be the first time that I will not be able to give my family members a call whenever I desire.
Another huge concern of mine is packing! Yesterday was the first day that I went and purchased items for this trip (a little late in the game I know). I work better under pressure anyways so Wednesday night will probably be the actual day that I start and finish packing.
However, I have been looking forward to this trip since January and now it is finally here. I know that this is going to be a life changing experience for me and I can’t wait till it gets underway! Uganda, here I come!!
