We went through neighborhoods of Cien Fuegos that strongly reminded me of shanty towns I walked through when I was living and working in Africa. I did not take any pictures, which I know will surprise my artist friends that know I am not shy about taking photographs. However, as John told me, I absolutely had to take on more of the director’s role to make sure the students had enough direction during the day. That essentially meant I was no longer a camera man.
However, I do have plenty of silly shots from the day before during our one and only break to a beach.
The series of images at the right are from our trip to Sosúa. It was still very Dominican, but as John pointed out, it will likely have resorts built on it within the next decade, or so_
