We love comments

You've read the the students' blog about our day at Ave Maria. It was wonderful. Terrific dance and music performances. A play. John O'Keefe made an elder of the tribe. (So cool.) Planting a tree in Africa. (Really, really cool.)

It was a long, but a great day. Today we started our interviews and, though it might not seem a little vague to students at the moment, our story is coming together.

Tomorrow will be another long, but wonderful day. Look for the students' blogs. And comment.

About Carol Zuegner

I am a journalist/professor and lucky enough to be one of the leaders of the Backpack Journalism team. I have been an associate professor of journalism at Creighton since 1997. Before that I worked as a reporter/editor for The Associated Press. I still work one night a week as a copy editor at the Omaha World-Herald. I believe in the power of journalism and story-telling no matter the platform. My journalism interests range from editing to social media to entrepreneurship.

  • Carol,
Please know we are reading the blogs and enjoying the stories and observations. Although it is difficult to experience in the same manner as you all are, we are so thrilled that the students are able to have this wonderful experience. More importantly, they are giving of themselves to a different culture in hopes of making a difference. Thanks for the sacrifice you are making as well.

  • All of you are inspirations to all of us. You are creating memories that will last forever and affect the rest of your life in ways you may not realize now. Enjoy every day !

  • Carol, Tim, John the Elder (yes, that name will definitely stick, as long as John isn’t holding a pointed stick), and all of the fabulous companions sharing this journey,

Thank you for sharing and know that we’re following your progress and anxiously awaiting the next film’s debut screening! Creighton is blessed to have this program.
